I’m SO excited to blog this Wedding Photography today! This couple and all of their crew are near and dear to my heart, so I can’t tell you how honored and excited I was when Brad and Allison asked me to photograph their wedding.
We met by kind of a crazy happenstance. My mom was in a horrific accident a while back, and Brad was one of the docs who actually worked on her while all the great folks at Our Lady of the Lake were trying to save her life. I had no idea at the time, but we started chatting after Brad had found me online and asked me to photograph his proposal to Allison – and I was stunned to hear of the connection!
And, to make things even MORE Six-Degrees-of-Kevin-Bacon, Allison’s BFF and maid of honor, Tina, was my mom’s nurse – the one who fought for her, kept me (relatively) calm…and oh yeah, there mayyyyy be a story in there about how I decided it was a great idea to give blood on an empty stomach, then say, hey – let’s go visit mom’s room…and I almost pass out on Tina. She took good care of both of us, that day. 😉 I was so excited to see so many of the awesome crew who took care of all of us during such a crazy time at the reception!
Anyway, I loved Brad and Allison from the very first second I met them – they’re funny, and kind, and have just the absolute best attitude about living and enjoying life to the absolute fullest. I just *knew* their wedding was going to be amazing, and MAN, did they come through on that! Their friends and family are all just like them – wonderful, fun and amazing people with whom it was an absolute honor to spend the day with. We had crying, we had laughter, we had a surprise party crash by the Saints mascot Gumbo, at the reception…it was an absolutely perfect night.
Thanks to all of the great vendors who made the day so great for this special crew!

A little pre-ceremony prep!
Brad’s mom teared up over the personalized hankie he gave her – and she definitely used it later!

I love that these guys made the wedding their own, and wore lighted shoes for their first dance!
Allison may have done her best to rig the cake pulls in favor of Tina getting the ring!
