What an wonderful birth this was at The Birth Center of Baton Rouge! Baby Juniper sure kept everyone on their toes for the last few weeks of her time spent cooking. Poor Mom had a LOT of prodromal labor, but baby J just kept cooling her jets and keeping us all guessing as to when she’s make her grand entrance! JUST when it started to look like she’d need a little assistance from mom’s medical team, she finally decided that maybe being born sounded kinda intriguing, and this little peanut got on her merry way. She was surrounded by love and laughter for every last second of her birth story, and had THE most amazing mom, dad and big sister waiting to meet her!
I adore all of the wonderful coaching and laboring images we got this day – a lot of people think that a birth photography session is all about the baby. In reality, though, it’s a love story that encompasses the whole family – often showcasing the love and powerful connection between partners and friends in one of the most powerful experiences in a mother’s life. This family’s connection was nothing short of amazing!
Here are a few of my favorite moments from birth photography of this breathtaking birth story. <3
Having a support person who can make you laugh eve while contracting is never a bad thing!
I love the the strong, yet peaceful connection between these two.
The quiet in the midst of the oncoming storm!
Sometimes a simpleĀ hand of comfort is just what you need.
Dad was solid as a rock for mom, all the way through!
Friends flap cool towels at you while you labor – apparently. š
That moment when it all hits home.
Quiet family bonding time.
Baby girl found her thumb pretty quickly!
Meeting big sister!
Probably THE funniest sibling meeting baby photo I’ve taken to date! This girl was an absolute trip!
Don’t let that photo fool you, though – she LOVED her some baby Juju!
