Ascension Parish Louisiana Family Photography The Poches
It’s that time of year, folks – Christmas card season! In south Louisiana, this is the time in which everyone gets dressed up in cute sweaters and acts like it’s *actually* cold outside for a bit while they smile for the camera. All while it’s, like, seventy degrees outside and everyone’s actually sweating.
Hazards of living in the South, y’all.
The Poches and I got together in Sorrento to take some cute formals for Christmas cards – check out one of my FAVORITE family photos that I’ve ever taken below. It’s utter chaos, and completely sums up family life with three small kids. We’ve alllll been there, right?
When we were done with portraits (okay, fine–a little before, but we worked with it), the littlest Poche decided he was hungry (which he often is), so we headed over to the Coffee House at the Cajun Village for some beignets and hot cocoa. The kids were uber-excited about this, and this is when we got my favorite shots of the day! Little B was determined to have whatever his sister was having, and we captured the exaaaaact moment when he decided to try to sneak the straw from his own water cup into his sister’s cup of hot chocolate. When he got busted, he was not one bit ashamed of himself.
Dude knows how to work a cute smile to get you to forget he’s supposed to be in trouble, no?
The expressions in this one…they still kill me. #Parenthood
Dad says nope, kid. Sorry.
Mmm, water. I like water. Wait, what does she have there…?
