Beth and Jordy’s Gonzales wedding at Holy Rosary Catholic Church–followed by their reception at Elegant Affairs–was one for the books, y’all.
I talk a lot with my clients about what documentary wedding photography really means, and how it affects their day (or doesn’t, really).
These guys were a couple who just got it, right away, and I love it when that happens!
From the very start of things, they were just focused on enjoying their day to the fullest, spending time with their loved ones, and soaking it all in. There may have been a few nerves here and there, but no real stress, which is honestly the best way to live your wedding day. I love that Beth in particular was just so excited about everything. She was so happy to be marrying her best friend, and grateful to have all of her very favorite people surrounding her as she said I DO!
Just before walking towards Jordy down the aisle of Holy Rosary in St. Amant, Beth shared some sweet moments with her dad. She teared up, and took a few deep, calming breaths before starting that walk that she knew would change her life forever. Those images are some of my favorites of the whole day!
Okay, and can we talk about how awesome Father Josh is? He’s the priest at Holy Rosary, and let me tell you…I was not prepared for him. His mass was funny, and personal, and meaningful, and just all of the best adjectives. As if Beth and Jordy didn’t already have a million reasons to smile while getting married…Father Josh then gave them a few more for good measure. Trying to take photographs while laughing during mass was a new one for me!
Elegant Affairs in Gonzales hosted these guys’ amazing reception, and were totally on top of things – as usual!
One of my favorite parts of the reception was witnessing the constant, dogged determination of Jordy’s sisters to get him to dance with them. He kept up his stoic, “Unimpressed Jordy” face for a little bit, but they eventually cracked him!
Then, as if the night needed to be any more perfect, it ended with an impromptu authentic Cajun music performance on the porc–and what a way to end the night!
