This birth photography session at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge was an extra-special one. One of the greatest privileges I experience is being asked to document sibling births. It’s an honor to be trusted with a couple’s first birth. But it’s an extra special honor to be trusted again!
When Meredith and Jesse asked me to be present for their second daughter’s birth, I was so excited. Being able to see how their first little one has grown, and witness her wonder at becoming a big sister was so sweet.
Meredith was scheduled for a c-section bright and early on this morning. As usual, the team at Woman’s Hospital did a phenomenal job getting everyone ready to meet little Emerson. She made her grand entrance shortly after the c-section began, and was soon safely in her parents’ arms.
I love the images we got during this birth photography session! It was so interesting seeing how similar some images were to those of their last baby’s birth. And others were so wonderfully unique! I love that you can see all the love that Jesse has for Meredith in his eyes every time he looks at her. I love that you can see Meredith just light up when she looks at her babies. She has the same look in her eyes now as she did when she met her firstborn! And Jesse can still make her laugh, in any situation.
And how great did little Ava Pace do, meeting her sister?!
I loved seeing the look on her face. She was so excited to meet Emerson! I’m so lucky I got to be there to witness their first bonding. Photographing everyone in this family was so much fun! The love they all have for one another is amazing.
I’m always honored at the level of trust that is placed in me to document birth photography at Woman’s Hospital. Dr. Lafranca and the nursing staff were stellar and warm and wonderful, as always!
