Engagement photography at Windrush Gardens – this is one of my favorite spots! The LSU Ag Centerย has a lot to offer in terms of beautiful photo locations in Baton Rouge. Windrush–located right next to the museum–is a great mix of gorgeous greenery, blooming foliage, and dripping Spanish moss. Few locations scream “Louisiana” as much as this one does!
It’s so weird to think that the chick in these photos is my niece, all grown up! She was the flower girl in my wedding a *few* years ago, now. I couldn’t be more excited to see her getting married herself, this spring.
Naturally, I jumped at the chance to photograph her engagement photos with her Luke. These two braved the hot Louisiana temperatures with me, getting up early in the morning to photograph in some sunrise light!
I think the early wake-up call paid off in spades, right?!
Check out a few of my *very* favorite images, below, of this engagement photography session at Windrush Gardens.
And if you’re looking to get your own engagement session photographed, make sure you’ve checked out THIS LIST of suggested locations, for some other killer Louisiana spots!
A little black and white magic! I love a good closeup in black and white – sometimes it just *slays*!
What do you do when the light starts getting harsh? Well, you pull out a light and get creative! ๐
One thing I tend to do a lot at engagement photography sessions: experiment! It’s fun to take a more “traditional” image, and then see what I can do to take it up a notch. I loved using these leaves to frame the couple and add visual interest!
It’s possible that my couples here, “Okay, now stay right there – I’m about to get weird” a lot. ๐
Just a gigantic leaf used as a framing element – NBD. ๐
