Surprise proposal photography is one of my VERY favorite things to photograph, here in Baton Rouge.
So I bet you can guess what my answer was, when Beau contacted me about being a part of this magical moment with him and his girl!
*All* over it – that was me!
He had everything planned out to a T! And let me tell you, planning a surprise proposal photography session is not for the faint of heart, here in south Louisiana. Our weather patterns are SO unpredictable! We were both watching the weather like a hawk in the days before this surprise proposal. We’d had a TON of storms in the days leading up to it, so our plans for a gorgeous garden backdrop were…let’s say a little “iffy” until the last moments!
Luckily, Beau had a great recon crew in his family members and Jordan’s friends, so we were all keeping an eye on the conditions at Windrush Gardens at the LSU AgCenter.
And everything worked out JUST PERFECTLY, friends! We had one tiny little pocket of no-rain that morning, and we took full advantage of it.
Jordan was so surprised! I love it when they’re truly shocked, man. ♥ Her expressions and happy tears were the absolute BEST to photograph!
After capturing the big moment, we took some sweet celebratory portraits in the gorgeous grounds. The iffy weather actually meant that we had the whole place to ourselves, so we got some great shots! I often think that it’s difficult to take a “bad” photo in these sweet little sessions after a surprise proposal. There’s just no containing that level of joy. It *really* shows, in the photographs!
