This proposal photography session in Baton Rouge is one for the books, y’all!
When Harrison called me to ask me to photograph his proposal to his long-time love, I was all over it. And that was BEFORE he told me that they were considering bringing their dog along!
(Spoiler alert: if it involves dogs, I am HERE FOR IT).
One of the perks of hiring an engagement photographer to document the moment you pop the question is benefiting from their experience. Harrison ran into a last minute snag with the location he’d originally wanted to use for his proposal backdrop. Luckily, he knows a girl who’s done a proposal photography session or two, and had some backup ideas!
Windrush Gardens turned out to be a PERFECT backdrop for this big moment in their lives. Their dog, Tuck, cracked me up with his COMPLETE UNCONCERN at the huge-ness of this event. 😉
Of course, we got plenty of photos of their fur-baby so that they’ll have those memories of him being “in” on the surprise. I love it when my clients include their dogs in engagement sessions!

Tuck was singularly unimpressed and couldn’t quite figure out why his humans were so excited!
The Spanish moss and quaint cottage on Windrush’s property was such a beautiful backdrop for these photos!
We took a few minutes after documenting the big event to get some nice portraits!
Them: Tuck, wait over here.

Man, the light we had at this session was killer! These two were troopers. I told them where to stand and they just shuffled right on over while I climbed into some bushes! #DontMindMe
