Baton Rouge Elopement Photographer | Megan and Kyle
I love elopements for so many reasons. Number one is that they are, by necessity, SO intimate and meaningful! When you’re planning a smaller and shorter wedding day, there’s just not a lot of extra “stuff” to distract you from what’s most important.
I got a call about photographing this elopement just a day before Megan and Kyle were planning to get hitched. It only lasted for an hour, from start to finish! They’d decided that they wanted to get married on their own terms, without all of the “planning” and fuss involved in a traditional wedding ceremony.
“We’re just going to get married how we want to, and tell our families at Christmas. They can’t be mad at us at Christmas!”
I can’t tell you how much I love this. Your wedding day should be about the two of you and your commitment to one another – not what is “expected”. Do what you want because you want to – not for the sake of it!
Megan and Kyle got married in her sister’s back yard in Baton Rouge. They had a fun first look, the sweetest, most laughter-filled ceremony… and we followed it all up with some classic portraits afterwards.
Even though this day was short, it had ALL of the most important elements of a perfect wedding day.
Check out a few of my favorite images!
I love that Megan wore her grandmother’s stole for her wedding!
