Lake House Wedding Photography – Jessica and Luke
This wedding at Lake House Reception Center was pretty much as perfect as they get!
At our pre-wedding meeting, Jessica and I talked a lot about what she wanted her day to feel like. After being a part of other weddings that were very fast-paced and stressful, she knew she wanted her day to be more relaxed. She and Luke both just wanted to enjoy their day, and get photos that reflected the emotion and the story of their marriage more than anything else.
Naturally, this was right up my alley! Documentary wedding photography is all about communicating the feeling of a wedding day, and never forcing things. So, we just allowed this day to unfold naturally, and got some great moments as a result!
The boys started out at Top Golf, and it was so much fun spending time with them and cutting up in those last few hours of Luke’s single-dom. Over with the girls, things got real emotional, and I was DOWN for it! The moments between Jessica and her friend and family were some of the most wonderful I’ve photographed. And it was here that I saw the most unique and special wedding tradition that I’ve experienced in a long time! Jessica’s mother had gathered scraps from all of the clothing from the major events in Jessica’s life. From a hospital gown, to dance costumes, to graduation gowns…it was all represented there and pinned to the underskirt of her wedding dress. ♥
Not even rain on the wedding day could get this crew down.
Jessica rolled right into it without a blink, and Lauren at Lake House handled the shuffle of going from an outdoor ceremony to indoors so smoothly! Everything went off without a hitch. From an emotional father/daughter first look, to a surprise gifting of flowers to the couples’ mothers, to laughing all the way through their wedding vows – everything was just perfect!
From there, the reception was one big, wonderful party. Glow sticks, blinking rings and bubble exits for the WIN!
Thanks to all of the amazing vendors who made this day happen. I’m so happy to have been a part of all this magic with this crew!
