New Orleans Birth Photography | Rylea
Oh, man. I can’t tell you how excited I am to share this birth story with the world. I’ve been with this little family from their engagements, to Lea-Ann’s bridals, for her wedding to Ryan, and now for the birth of their first child.
It’s always–ALWAYS–an honor for me to be present when a client’s baby is born. But this one was extra special! These guys have become like family to me! It was the most emotional experience, for everyone. I loved being there for the wild ride of Rylea’s birth, and witnessing all of the grandparents and family members fall in love with this little girl!
Lea-Ann had some complications during her pregnancy. As a result, she ended up needing an emergency c-section for delivery. This is not something that most moms would say they want for their baby’s arrival, I know. But Lea-Ann was so strong and amazing, and had the very best medical and family support team.
One of the most important things about choosing a birth photographer is ensuring that you choose someone with not just photographic skills–but also experience in chaotic birth spaces.
Things moved SO quickly for this birth, and I wasn’t even sure that I would be allowed into the operating room until the last second. As we were getting down to the wire for delivery, my experience in the birth industry told me that Lea-Ann would likely remember very little of this experience. So, I was extra determined to document the entire story–every little nuance–so that she could really feel like she LIVED these moments, when looking through the photographs. It means the world to me that I’ve since heard from both mom and all of the family that they were SO glad I was there that day. They all feel like they got to experience every precious moment of this little girl’s birth! And that’s what it’s all about, for me.
Welcome to the world, Rylea – you are so, SO loved!
I love this moment as both moms look on as dad bonds with his girl!
What an amazing moment as great grandma meets Rylea over Facetime!
